Hi, I’m Jason.
I’m a husband and dad first. Everything else comes second.
I have three children and a family that keeps me grounded, curious, and occasionally humbled. We’re based in Singapore, and home is where I do my best thinking, even when it’s loud.
Today, my work centres around three things I am deeply invested in. I am Co-founder and Strategy and Partnerships Director of Bravelight Collective, an integrated marketing agency that works with clients who have strong intellectual property at the heart of their business. I also serve as Managing Principal of an education franchise, where I oversee strategy and operations. And I teach marketing as an Adjunct Lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic, which keeps me honest about what I actually know versus what I only think I know, and gives me something I genuinely value, which is a front row seat to how younger minds think, what they care about, and how they see the world. All three keep me close to the realities of building something meaningful over time, rather than just advising from a distance.
Before this chapter, I spent 25 years leading brand, marketing and communications across Asia, working at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and the very human question of why people choose what they choose. I have had the privilege of working with some remarkable organisations along the way, including Singapore Tourism Board, DBS, ESPN, FOX Networks Group, The Walt Disney Company, and Disney Cruise Line, among others. That experience shapes how I think about everything I do now.
For a few years, I have been deep in the world of Generative AI as a practitioner. I hold a GenAI certification and I have been exploring how AI changes the way we think, create, market, and lead. This includes the practical side of adoption as well as the governance questions that organisations often overlook, such as how to use AI responsibly, how to build frameworks that protect brand integrity, and how to lead teams through the uncertainty of rapid technological change without losing sight of what matters.
In 2025, I authored a children’s book called It’s Okay, You’ve Got This: Finding Calm in Everyday School Life, using AI as a creative collaborator throughout the process. It was an experiment that became something I am genuinely proud of.
Why curious.dad?
Because curiosity is how I make sense of things.
I am the kind of person who sits with a question longer than most. I turn it over, look at it from different angles, and ask what happens if we assume the opposite is true. That habit has served me well in marketing, where the best insights rarely live on the surface.
This blog is where I think out loud about marketing, AI, and life more generally. It is a space for ideas that do not always fit neatly into a work conversation but feel worth saying anyway. I write for people who are curious enough to ask uncomfortable questions and honest enough to sit with the uncertainty while the answers form.
I am not here to tell you AI is going to save your brand or destroy it. I am here to think carefully about what is actually changing, what is just noise, and what that means for the work we do and the teams we lead.
What you’ll find here
Substantive thinking on marketing strategy, brand leadership, GenAI governance, and the practical realities of AI adoption, written from 25 years of doing the work across Asia and beyond.
But also, life. I write about stoicism and what it means to lead with equanimity when everything feels so darn urgent. I write about mental health and why senior professionals rarely talk about the weight they carry. I write about fatherhood, faith, and the small daily choices that quietly define the kind of person you are becoming. I write about what it means to stay physically disciplined and mentally clear when the demands on your time and attention never seem to let up.
There won’t be hot takes for the sake of engagement or recycled frameworks dressed up as original thought. It is all about considered perspectives from someone who has sat in enough boardrooms, managed enough campaigns, and watched enough platforms rise and fall to know that the fundamentals of human behaviour have not changed as much as the headlines suggest.
A few things that are true about me
I train almost every day and have been using HYROX while looking to conquer other events as a way to benchmark my physical ability and keep myself honest about progress. I believe faith shapes how I lead and how I parent. I think the dinner table is the most important meeting of the day. I also enjoy tinkering with tech, mostly on the AI side as a curious user rather than a builder, which gives me a grounded perspective on what these tools actually feel like to use day to day.
I also believe that technology is most powerful when it stays in its place, as a tool that amplifies human judgement rather than a substitute for it. Human must be in the loop at all times. That belief runs through everything I write here.
